The Arc of NC and the Autism Society of NC, with support from NC DHHS, will be conducting a Project ECHO™ program – IDD Health ECHO for Primary Care Providers targeting primary care providers (physicians, FNPs, PAs) across North Carolina who support people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and would like to enhance their expertise in working with this population.

Didactic Topics will include:

• The Fatal Five: top preventable causes of illness and death in people with IDD
• Actions Speak Louder than Words: behavioral manifestation of underlying medical conditions in people with IDD
• Oral Health: Implication of Delayed Dental Health and the role of Primary Care in Identifying Concerns
• Creating an Inclusive Office Experience for people with IDD and Autism 
• Psychotropic Medication Use in People with IDD
• Primary Care Provider Order Requirements for Paid Community Supports
• Tailored Care Management and 1915i Services: what Primary Care Providers need to know
• The role of OT in supporting people with IDD and ASD and when to make a referral
